The four-seater’s soft-top roof is fully electric and folds into its own storage area in just 9.5 seconds. Unlike the previous Beetle Cabrioletcar, it lies very flat, enabling good vision to the rear.
It has an impressive 225 litres of boot space, which is just 85 litres less than the Beetle hatchback.
The new Beetle Cabriolet is offered with a choice of seven engines. This includes 1.2, 1.4 and 2.0 TSI units, with 104bhp, 158bhp and 197bhp respectively, while diesel options include a 104bhp 1.6-litre and 138bhp 2.0-litre TDI. More efficient BlueMotion Technology versions of the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel are also available.
Trim levels follow that of the Beetle hatch range, which incorporates Beetle, Design and Sport models. Volkswagens Active Rollover System is fitted as standard.
